Greg Hubbell, Jr., from Belmont, CA, is an avid outdoorsman, a great kid, and a very successful competition caller. Competing across the US in calling competitions, at age 13 he is one of the greatest competition callers of all time. Already with six individual World titles, one North American title, three World Runner Up titles, a World Second Runner Up, and thirteen State titles, he is on his way to rewriting the record books for competition calling. By winning the Junior World Duck Competition in 2008, Greg Jr. became the only person ever in competitive calling history to win a World contest in both a reed (Duck or Goose) and diaphragm (Turkey or Elk) competition. He won more calling contests in 2008 than anyone in the world – nineteen wins in all that year. Hard at work on his craft, Greg Jr. is truly humbled and honored to be able to do that as a member of Team Young Guns.
Greg Jr. began his outdoor experiences at 8 months old catching his first trout from a stroller, has hunted waterfowl at sea level, and trophy mule deer up to 13,000 feet. His first big game harvest was a pronghorn antelope in New Mexico at age 9. His calling goals are focused – Greg Jr. wants to be the greatest competition caller in the history of the world, win more contests, more World Championships than anyone else. Greg Jr. has also attracted the attention of the “Main Street” media and you may have seen him appearing on morning, primetime, late night TV, or heard on the radio around the world. A sports segment about him was nominated for a North California Emmy Award in 2007 in one of the top five markets in the US, also played in 16 other TV markets nationwide, and ended up with an appearance on the largest morning TV show in the US, the NBC Today Show! Greg Jr. also has his own website dedicated to animal calling, kids, and the outdoors. You can visit at www.icallducks.com.
