Sloan Williams of Mooresville, NC, is a sporting dog expert for Team Young Guns. At just 17 years old, Sloan is already well on her way to turning her passion for the outdoors into a career. Sloan works at Beaverdam Kennels as a dog trainer under the instruction of Charlie Jurney, one of the most respected trainers in the country. From basic and advanced retriever training to professional handling, Sloan has an amazing knack for working with sporting dogs.
Sloan got involved in hunting and the outdoors at a young age. By 3 years old, she was joining her dad in the field. By age 12, Sloan had found her calling as a sporting dog trainer and began working for Beaverdam Kennels. Sloan also enjoys hunting waterfowl, upland game, and deer with her family. She shares her love for the outdoors with others every chance she gets. Sloan was invited to demonstrate her ability at the 2006 Camp WaterDog Daze sponsored by Ducks Unlimited, and she has also been published in the pages of Hunting Retriever Magazine. When she isn't working with other people's dogs, Sloan runs field trials with her own personal dog Kansas. She and Kansas are closing in on the 500 Points Club in UKC Hunt Tests.
